About Generation Blockchain

ABOUT

Anything that can conceive of as a supply chain, blockchain can vastly improve its efficiency- it doesn’t matter if its people, numbers, data, money.

- Ginni Rometty, CEO IBM

This project directly addresses both of the challenges in the Digital Education Action Plan:

Firstly, the enhancement of digital learning and teaching in HEIs and secondly, the development of advanced digital skills in our students so that they are better prepared to contribute to the digital transformation of society.

This is essential as “all students in advanced learning, irrespective of discipline, need to acquire advanced transversal skills and key competences that will allow them to thrive, including high level digital competences.” Our project will meet this need: although blockchain is a complex field of study, our approach is largely non-technical, focusing on the developing the practical, critical thinking competences that future leaders in the business sectors will need to work with blockchain.

Our project adopts a strong “train the trainers” approach with materials specifically designed to spur lecturers to grow in confidence, knowledge and skills to teach it effectively.

As a result of the resources created, the project will enable teaching staff to enhance their own digital capabilities, especially their digital literacy in a world infused with algorithms, supercomputing and cybersecurity, and to pass this knowledge on to current and future generations of students.
